Gingerperson crayons.

So this is how you do it. I peeled the paper off all my old broken crayons. Then I cut them up to be about 1/4 inch each.
Now you can do them in solid colors or mix them all up. I thought it would be fun to do solids and I did mixed as well. You can use really any pan you want. I have these super cuter ginger people ones I have had for about 15 years
I put enough crayons to where they are at about to the top of the mold. I recommend doing a test crayon first.
Off to the oven they go. I put them in the cooled oven no real reason but not wanting to burn myself.
Turn the oven to 200 degrees. this does a nice slow melt so they do not mix too much. Depending of the crayon thickness mold type it will be different times.
once they are nice and melted I just turn the oven off open the door a bit to cool off. I found this best. Trying to move a pan full of melted wax is really hard. This way there is little to no spilling over.
Once they are solid enough to move out let them cool for a while until you can pick up the pan with out burning your self.
Off to the freezer they go. I put a cooling rack between to they could stack in the freezer with out having to take things out. Here they will stay for a while.
They will start to separate themselves form the nice cold pan. That is when they are nice and done.
Now they are ready to be used. These are great for all aged kids. You can make a printed out coloring book to go with. Makes great for a homemade gift for who ever. Or if you are having a gathering. Always nice to ha ve something for those kids to do. Besides running a muck in the house. I hope you enjoyed this little walk though. Can not wait to hear how yours turned out.

Glade Expressions!!

Many of you know I am a BzzAgent. Well one of the latest product I got to check out was the Glade Expression line. The line is great the oil diffuser was simple to put together. At first the scent was a bit over whelming but calmed down after a few days. I have the oil and the spray. I really like the design of both of them.

COVERGIRL & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation and COVERGIRL & Olay Pressed Powder Day 1

So yesterday I stood in front of my mirror and applied the COVERGIRL & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation and COVERGIRL & Olay Pressed Powder. Granted I have not worn foundation or powder in over a year. I have to say that I love the pump on the foundation. No more shaking a bottle drips or too much coming out or even the dreaded spill all over if it gets knocked over. It applied smoothly. I used my fingers since I have no sponges (opps knew I forgot something at the store). After the application of the foundation I was happy the way my skin looked. It was nice not to see the skin tone variation that I have and everything looked even. Next came the powder. I was completely impressed how it went on as well. The make up lasted all day. Even after walking to church, cooking and cleaning. I did not feel the need to re apply the powder at all. At the end of the day it still looked as if I just put it all on. To be honest I was a little scared on how well it would wash off. I really do not like to scrub my face. I used my normal body wash. It came off perfectly. I wanted to see how much came off so I grabbed my cotton rounds and rubbing alcohol. All the make up came off with just the body wash. Honestly I am not a big make up person but over all I am happy after just the first day. I can not wait to see how the foundation helps my skin tone after a longer bit of time.

so much going on

Well life here is slowly getting better. It has taken a while but I finally have a friend. It is great. Kids are making friends. Last weekend my friend her husband, son and husband's parents came over for Easter dinner. We ended up eating outside. It was really a good time. This is the first time we have had non family members over for dinner. Today marks the first day of spring break. So far the kids are outside playing. I might just stay in bed and relax not sure yet.

nearly 4 months

Well this is how long we have been back in Utah. It is now time to get back on track with everything. For me this means out of bed by 9am. Since this is when the kids are all at school. I need to start working out again for many reasons. The main one being my health. I have to start getting the house cleaned up before I play my video games. No more laying in bed all day crocheting and watching tv all day. Okay may be just one day a week. I want to start eating as a family a few days a week. So that mean me getting off my rear and cooking proper meals. No more mass cooking then eating what ever is in the fridge. For the kids it means that after school homework first then chores before getting to go out side play laptops watch tv or playing video game. Clean laundry put away the day it is washed and rooms are picked up. Of course the kids are not going to like this one bit. There are some issues we are dealing with here and I think if we get back to a schedule things might help some. I also want to start doing things as a family playing games or outside together. Yes this means having McKay involved as well. That might be the hardest. I have been letting thing slack big time. there is piles of clean laundry downstairs. We can not even watch movies together. Our Office place is so clustered I have to walk over things to get to my desk. So I am thinking of chore lists. Does any one know where to find some good ideas for this. We use to have a jar. I would right down things that had to be done daily the kids would have to pick something out and that is what they had to do. All my kids are old enough to be able to do anything in the house. I also would have one slip be a free day but might not put that in.

ouch

Had a loaf of everything french bread in the fridge that was about to go bad so decided to make croutons with it. Nearly finished cubing it all up I end up slicing part of my nail off all the way to the flesh. Thank goodness no blood. So it is raw and tender. McKay finished cutting everything for me and did not make fun of me at all. Today I will keep him Well this gets me out of washing dishes.

I WON

I won the fight over the pink chair. I love how it looks there.

Moving

Helping a family member move is exhausting. My body still hurts from yesterday. Of course I am happy to help. Always funner when a bunch of stuff is given to us. Avery got a new bunk bed twin on top and full futon on bottom. Joshua got a queen size bed. Nathan and Alex both got desks. There is also a bookcase chair and other things. The pink Chair from Grandma Ellen's house is now causing a debate in the house. I want the chair to crochet on Hope wants the chair in her room for reading and tv.

Quilting

As many of you all know I LOVE SEWING. Well I noticed many worn and torn part on the quilt that Ellen Stringham gave us for a wedding present. Mind you McKay uses this blanket every night. I have already patched it several times. The other day I went to do some repairs and realized that it would be easier to just cover it totally. So I go to may massive fabric collection and start working. It is coming out really well. I decided since I have many precut hearts I am going to put puffy hearts on it as well. So today Hope and I camp out at the dinning room table cutting heart out of batting cutting the fabric. I had some scrap strips and she asked if she could make something with it. So back to the fabric we went. We pulled out all the smaller leftovers that we could find at the moment. She ironed it all and I cut 10x1 inch strips for her. I pulled out her sewing machine and off to work she went. Now this is the first time she has done anything on it. She is doing a great job. She has made 3 10 inch squares already. Last 2 with no help from me at all. Her machine started making some odd clanking noises. So out come my tools I take it apart. Come to find that the bobbin winder is broken. This had to happen in the move. Just what I need another broken item. So I removed it completely. Make no sound and works perfect. So I sit there on one side of the table on my quilt and she is at the other. I have to say it was a great time. I love that she wants to sew. I will try to get pictures loaded up of what we have done so far once I find my camera. It keeps poofing. Since I am on vacation from face book I hope that you all are reading this. I also hope that some of you comment. It is nice to know that this is being read. I am still trying to figure out how to put a read button on here Like one of my nieces has. But of course feed back would be great.

Nathan hates it here.

Well every time that we move we have to deal with Nathan's emotion. No matter if we move in the same state or to a different one he will hate it. He is not the type of child that likes change at all. We knew it would be hard. Last night he had one of his melt downs. So I asked what the deal was. He said he hates living here and wants to go back to Vegas. He misses his school and his friends. I explained to him he is not the only one that misses Vegas. Here things should be better McKay is working. We have a house where we have room to move. The schools are great. Since last Aug when McKay left I have gone easy on him so his anger monster does not come out. I think that has back fired on me. Things are going to change.

The rest of the kids are handling the change better. I am doing okay. I know as soon as I am more active in church and come out of my shell there I will get to know people. It is just said that everyone I know in Utah lives far. But it does give me more time for my crafts LOL.

Super busy life

So my one and only resolution for this year is to remember to blog at least once a week. Big this is not to blog about negative things. But with me that will be hard to do. I use blogging to vent out how I feel.

This year started with a bang. For those of you that follow me on facebook kinda know what is going on. So to rewind just a bit. We have moved back to Utah. last July McKay got a job offer that we just could not turn down. So come August he can to work in Utah. The kids and I stayed in Vegas. It was not until mid November we all came here. McKay found a nice house in Eagle Mountain. Things in the house seemed great. Until the day we decided to clean under Joshua's bed and found there was a leak in the wall and it caused black mold. We had to kick him out of his room and seal it off. This week the work is finally getting done. today he came and repaired the drain pipe. I went in and sprayed everything down with bleach and will do it again later tonight. While rolling up the carpet since we are replacing the padding. I found that there is a section that has black mold. I know that we would have to replace the carpet but I really did not want too. Besides all that I am now in search for a new bed for him since it has water damage. So that is going to be a pain.

As for me I am doing okay sorta a bit. I now live out in the middle of nowhere. I am trying to find the positive. I was so happy to move back and be near my family but now I am not yes I am closer but it is such a drive to get anywhere 20 min just to get to the store. I have met a few of the neighbors. Starting this week I am going back to church. So I know that will help me alot. One of the things our RS has asked the sisters to read The Book of Mormon. So I am. It is taking longer then I thought. Thankfully I have it on my nook so it makes it easier.

So I have to go finish dinner I am making chicken fried rice with Chocolate pudding for dessert. TTFN
